STUDENT FEEDBACK FALL96

Selia, this semester's class has been an educational and exciting experience for me. I think that it is a useful and fun class to attend. If I could key in on three things that I really liked I would say that I liked the class presentations, the building of the web pages,and just becoming more familiar with the computers.
I thought the class was great and I really got a lot out of it.
I would just like to say that I have had a amazing semester in your class. I have learnt how to use e-mail, use power point (very well) and of course how to make web pages and work in teams. The only improvement that I can suggest is that more hands on should be done in class. Especially for the Web pages. Since I found the pages the most difficlut aspect of the course. It was a challenge. Besides that fact that more should be done during class, it was a great class!!! Thanks for allowing me to actually learn something new.
A devoted student
The things that I enjoyed in this course were: learning PowerPoint and creating Webpages. The class setup was good because it allowed us to progress more or less at our own pace.
Overall I really enjoyed the course.
Power point was a very interesting program. It will be my graphics weapon for my future assignments. The presentations were also very useful in giving us practice for our other courses.
I liked the individual web page assignments, It was really hard at first. But when you get started it turns out to be pretty easy. I liked the overall format of the course, as well as the power point presentations. Being able to use powerpoint and being able to make web pages looks good on a resume. The only thing that I did not like were the rotten computers in the lab. They made the graphics look like garbage. But overall I really liked the course.
Hello, or should I say bye bye. This course is the only course I have taken this semester that I really know that I have learned something that I can really use in the near future. My next project on my web page will be putting up my resume. Everything we have done in this class has been a big help for all my subjects. because of my powerpoint experience learned in this class; led me too getting an A in my presentation class. It is hard to explain exactly what part of this class was most important to know. Everything I learned in this class will be very helpfull and usefull in my semesters to come........thank you.
It was a great experience being in your class this year. I think that overall the class really enjoyed this learning curve. I believe that the experience we gained from this class will be very beneficial to us in the future, in the present and in our careers.
I really like doing the Powerpoint as you may have noticed. I take pride in the work I do and hope for the best possible outcome.

Three things I liked about the course

I found this course very rewarding. I gained a lot from this course. I have learned how to use the internet, how to create a web page, how to send e-mail, and how to create presentations through powerpoint. This course has improved my computer skills and I am excited about taking the next computer course.
Three things I liked about this class

Three things that I liked about the course was:
1. WE learned how to properly present while using power point as a tool.
2. Gained some good knowledge of internet.
3. How to work independently.
I have no negative comments on the class. As a matter of fact it was my favourite class. I liked being able to learn at my own pace, and I learned a lot because the course was interesting.
The things I liked most about your class were that the thing that you taught us helped us in other classes. I used the power point that you taught in two of my presentations classes. I also liked learning how to construct my own web page. Learning how to construct my web page was the most interesting part of the course to me. the only thing that would improve the class would be if the room size was bigger other than that I thought this was an interesting course, I really enjoyed being in your class and hope to see you soon.

The course that you taught our class was "GREAT' You gave me the knowledge which may be beneficial to my future career choice. The feedback you received in class was encouraging, for it would be a good idea to do the team web page first before assigning the individual web. Working together with the team allowed all of us to understand certain specifics which helped us. For example, what I didn't know someone else did!!! Thanks
The strengths are: the availability of the computers, the variety of projects that were assigned in order to help us understand the program a lot more, the fact that we were able to communicate through the teacher through e-mail outside of class time.
I also like the way you plan our course, doing the powerpoint first then web page. Because if we learn powerpoint first, we can immediately use it in other courses. Overall, I like you homepage very much, especially I found it very helpful when I had questions on how to solve a problem, all I have to do is click into the week.
LIKES:
1. The class opened my eyes to different programs (power point).
2. Got involved with the web and e-mail.
3. Enjoyed being able to find out schedule (each week) on the next class, through the web.
4. Basically learning the internet and being able to surf the next.
I am writing you about the course. Overall it was a good learning experience. I think the idea of doing the group assignments first is a valid one as the students could help each other. I think the best (and most frustrating part) was learning to make web pages.
1) You were the teacher, a lot of the teachers who teach computers don't really know what they are teaching and don't have the patience because of their inexperience.
2) Learning how to make a Web page, I finally feel like I've learned something that will be useful in the future.
3)Being able to do powerpoint presentations was good. I already knew powerpoint but the presentation part was new to me.
This course was great!! I learned much more than I expected. I know nothing about the web page before attending the class, NOW I can say that I am a web page expert, I am capable of creating any kind of web pages. And I love the Power Point that helps my presentations go smoothly. Honestly I enjoyed so much being in your class.
Accomplishments:
1. I am capable of creating any kind of web pages

3. I overcame the fears while presenting
=> I learned how to use PowerPoint very well and have been using it for almost every presentation and some assignments. I now know how to use that program very very well.
=> The webpage was an very interesting and fun thing to learn and now that I know how to do it, I can work on improving mine some more and even help others create a page of their own!
=> The classes were fun! It was interesting to watch other people's presentations and web pages.
=> Your 14 week internet acess was very effective because we always knew what we had to do for the following class, and were provided with some helpful instructions and hints.
The thing I liked most about the class the class is what I learned. Being able to make PowerPoint presentations and designing my own webpage is fun and very valuable, so the curriculum is very good. I also liked doing the presentations. They were fun and more laid-back than I thought they would be, so the class had a good atmosphere.
1. course outline: powerpoint seems to be the thing to use for professional presentations. I'm glad to know how to use it and use it effectively. how to create your own web page is something that may not be important in looking for a job, but it can be useful when you have it. complicated as it may be, at least I leave your class knowing how to do the basics of creating your own web page.
2. teacher's willing to help out students: it was very helpful of you to stay and help students ready to pull out their hair from doing their web pages
I had no quims or quarrels about the course. You are an exceptional teacher and taught me a lot about presentations and web pages. As I continue my courses at seneca, I hope to have you as a teacher again.
Hi, my dear professor Selia: There're three things that I've found very useful for my future which I learned in this semester and they're:
1-)I didn't know how to use the power point but now, I do.
2-)Even though the web site is very complicated, I do know how to create.
3-)Every one is afraid of talking in front of the people but now, we are not.
I really enjoyed the World Wide Web section of the course.
*Beginning with the project of the Best and Worst web site. This exercise helped the students become accustomed to the WWW, and it allowed the people who use the WWW frequently, to be able to analyse URLS.
*I found the powerpoint presentations, very useful. I specially appreciated that you helped us acknowledge the use of effective contrast and that the colours we select are very important. I also found it very useful that you "drilled" into our heads that technical problems do occur, and we should anticipate and prepare for such surprises.
*The homepage section of the class was my favourite. I found this section the most useful. I say most useful because, never, in any other class have I ever been tought how to do anything like a homepage. While the powerpoint presentation was great, I did receive other classes which covered presentations, yet not on the P.C.
Overall, I really enjoyed your class. I wish this was taught in the second semester. It would of really helped me for all my other classes, from info gathering to effective presentations which are always needed in practically every class.
I wish they taught this course in the Business Management programs!!
Congradulations for a job well done! Your class was by far my favourite and probably the only I went to on a regular basis(my business keeps me very busy) my favourite things were:BR> 1. I was able to finally learn something that is applicable in todays modern society..Welcome to the Internet... before this class I would just fool around with it but now I've learned to use it as an incredible sourcing tool. Plus I save long distance charges with email.
Second, I like the fact you let us work on our own and with teams, alot of teachers just lecture and accept the students to memmorize not allowing them to practice what they've learned...the assignments were targetted to actual situations that will happen in the workplace or at least information that you should know in this techo age.
Thirdly, the webpages...even though I didn't spend alot of time on my assignment..I have been working on one for my business and armed with the knowledge I learned in your class I am saving myself $50.00/hour that I would have had to pay someone.
Last but not least I just taught we were a good teacher, and in the sea of teachers that I've been submerged in you were a refreshing change. Thank-you
I wanted you to know that I thought the course was FANTASTIC!! Building my own personal web page was definately the highlight for me. Friends, family and co-workers have commented to me on the page. They can't believe that we are doing this at school. It makes the whole college look good and shows people that the students are as up to date with technology as possible. Personally, I'm going to make additions and keep my web page up to date.
It wouldn't have been possible without you, your great links and the help of classmates. I found going through the web sites together was really helpful in indentifying problems and creating solutions. I enjoyed going through your web page for tips and neat links.
Where to begin? Thats simple, I remember the first day of class and really did not know what to think. Those answers came quickly. I was fortunate to have as a professor a warm and genuine person who made it quite clear I can call any time if I needed to, and I will. I thank you for that!
In the last couple of months of school I was climbing the walls for a number of reasons & there very few windows to look through for comfort. Yours was a beautiful one. Mostly I thank you for that!
