Portfolios
  • Portfolios have a good layout, are readable and have consistent and error-free text. Portfolios should be put together with marketing saavy and creativity. Portfolios should be able to stand alone without explanation. Important documents like certificates should not be the originals. Originals should be should be protected by lamination and stored in a safe place.
  • Use a solid binder and artistic cover pages .  A Table of Contents is recommended. Include your resume and other career related resources. Spell check your work before printing it.
As to the content -  This portfolio is a tool that can be used in many ways: for exploring and organizing your skills and abilities, for thinking about where you have been and where you might be going, to market yourself professionally, to share with friends and family.

The portfolio is also used as a resource collection for your career. Portfolios not only tell about you and your skills, they demonstrate your approach to creative problem-solving by the ways in which you organize and represent yourself. Your portfolio may be a model for other students. Your portfolio may also be a global passport to a rewarding career. You will  create a business card with your URL to use in job search and should include one of these cards in your portfolio.

You will organize all of the necessary documents in a portfolio binder. 36 sleeve Binders are available for purchase in the Seneca Bookstore. You can see a sample Portfolio in class and can print out a copy of the Portfolio criteria or evaluation marking worksheet to follow as you assemble your portfolio artifacts. Portfolios are reviewed and evaluated by teams and marking sheets are submitted to the Professor. Random checks will be done by the professor to compare portfolios with the marking sheets to confirm the marks given.

ePortfolios

Because you are graduating soon - please use Freewebs  for creating your eportfolio. See ePortfolios (link also on main page)

You will be given assistance on request. An eportfolio created in MRK224 or MRK 410 class is not accepted in this course.   It is expected that ePortfolios be appropriate for use in Job Search, thus the content should be professional - any other content needs to be deleted or moved to another website. There is a criteria or marking sheet to guide you in the organization of your eportfolio.

With your team create a 10 minute professional presentation related to the marketing graduate you have selected to profile. .
You must integrate any photos and video, sound and graphics collected with your profile subject into this presentation.

Be sure that the Team name and all members names and class section are on the cover sheet. Also included in this package is a one page Summary of the Team Project - how you worked together as a team.
