CAP506, Career Launching and Portfolio
Development is designed as a competitive course.
Each class is made up of teams (the
number of teams depends on the number of students).
Each team must produce the following
deliverables:
1. Member Portfolios
2. Member ePortfolios
3. Member Brochure for Career Services
3. Team Multimedia Presentation of
a Marketing Graduate
Teams
are formed in Week 1 by draw. Those students not present will have positions
drawn for them.
Teams
will do peer review and evaluation of team members and of another team's
work.
The
portfolios, eportfolios and presentations will be evaluated by a strict
criteria or guidelines. Marking sheets are used.
All
projects have strict deadlines for delivery and evaluation of the three
main projects.
Evaluations
are checked by the professor for accuracy of marking.
Portfolios
are marked in class in Week 7.
ePortfolios
are marked by the professor according to the eportfolio criteria - may
be submitted at any time but no later than Week 12.
Presentations
of Graed Profiles will be shown and critiqued in class in Weeks 9, 10,
11
All
teams must be present for Portfolio review, ePortfolio review and for all
Grad Profile presentation weeks.
There is a Course WebSite with resources for the classes.
Each week classes meet in a computer lab - after announcements, demos and
discussion - teams work on projects.
In MySeneca, Forums relate to and supplement projects. Posting to
forums gains participation points.
